Searching For New Pastor

Searching For New Pastor

St. Peter’s Lutheran Church is searching for a full-time minister to serve our church family. What follows are some details about where we are located, who we are and the type of shepherd that we are looking for.

We are an established family congregation of approximately 180 members located 2 miles northwest of Arenzville, IL or 8 miles south of Beardstown, IL. Our church is located in a beautiful rural farm setting. Our ministry emphasis is on Sunday worship, Christian education (especially youth) and community outreach. We seek a personable and outgoing pastor who is able to communicate effectively and represent the congregation and the community in a positive manner. We hope for continued growth through youth and family ministry, congregational and community involvement and effective deliverance of Word and Sacrament.

A newly updated ranch style parsonage sits across the road from St. Peter's church. Arenzville is located in the Triopia School District #27. If you love the outdoors (hunting, camping, hiking, fishing etc.) this location will not disappoint you. The Triopia schools have an excellent reputation through academic and sports success dating back to the original consolidation in the 1960’s.

We may be located in the middle of corn and soybean fields but we are not in the middle of nowhere. We believe that God loves the country too. We are located midway between Springfield and Quincy both with 200K+ people in their cities and surrounding areas. You may travel 100 miles south to St. Louis or 240 miles north to Chicago to experience the metropolitan life of the Midwest. Theater, music and other cultural events and attractions are readily available locally and in the region.

We are excited to see who and what God has in store for us in the future. Our call team and congregation invite you to join us in praying for this process at 7 AM every morning. If you feel the nudge, maybe God is calling you!
